Professor Linda Slack-Smith is Director of Research in the School of Dentistry at the University of Western Australia. She has undertaken a substantial research program investigating social public health issues in oral health, child health, Indigenous health and public health using both qualitative and quantitative approaches. She has been a chief investigator on over $5.5million in nationally competitive funding. Much of her funded research and academic work has focused on capacity building (colleagues and students) and working with the community. She is a chief investigator on a $2.5 million Centre for Research Excellence in Primary Oral Health Care and holds a Worldwide Universities Network international grant to build international collaborations in cutting edge oral health research. She was previously a Lead Applicant for a $2.5million NHMRC Indigenous Capacity Building Grant.
