Jun Liang

Dr Jun LIANG is the Cluster Coordinator and Chief of Service of Department of Family Medicine and Primary Health Care in the New Territories West Cluster of Hospital Authority. He is also the Honorary Clinical Associate Professor of The University of Hong Kong and The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
After graduating from Glasgow University, he has practiced family medicine in the UK and Hong Kong. Dr Liang has pioneered various programmers in the HA which have been highly recognized. An example is the Diabetes Complication Screening Programme with coverage of 80% of the Diabetic patient population in the NTWC district, attaining an unprecedented level of high coverage enabling patients to receive early intervention in a timely manner and complications prevention.
With a strong commitment in providing quality health-care, Dr Liang is instrumental in introducing audit activities and clinical researches in primary care. In his drive to provide better management in chronic diseases and quality health care, he has initiated a cluster-wide DM audit in 2007, which was followed by hypertension audit in 2009 and Integrated Mental Health Care program in primary care in 2009. These were well-recognized and similar HA-wide activities and services were subsequently carried out.
His specific research interests are in chronic disease management and mental health care, health service and cancer diagnosis and management in primary care.
Dr Liang is currently a Trainer and Examiner of the Hong Kong College of Family Physicians. He is the Founder and Chairman of Hong Kong Primary Health Care Research Network.
